It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St Peter’s CE Primary School.
St Peter’s is a warm, caring and ambitious school, set in beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, where we want every child to feel known, valued and excited about coming to school each day. We are fortunate to be surrounded by a wonderful natural environment, and we make the most of this special setting as a place in which children can explore, discover, learn and flourish.
At the heart of St Peter’s is a strong sense of community. We believe that children thrive when school, families, our church and the wider community work together. Relationships matter deeply to us, and we want every child and family who joins St Peter’s to experience a genuine sense of belonging. We are proud to be a school where people know and care for one another and where every child is encouraged to recognise the contribution they can make to the lives of others.
Our Christian vision, “Minds that Learn, Hearts that Love, Faith that Gives,” shapes who we are and what we aspire to be. We want our children to develop curious and enquiring minds, with the knowledge, skills and confidence to embrace the opportunities ahead of them. We nurture hearts that love, teaching children to show kindness, respect and compassion and to celebrate the uniqueness of others. And through faith that gives, we encourage our children to put their values into action – serving others, taking responsibility and making a positive difference to their school, their community and the wider world.
We have high expectations for every child. Alongside providing a rich, ambitious curriculum, we want children to experience the joy of childhood: to ask questions, be creative, spend time outdoors, develop friendships, discover new talents, take on challenges and create memories that will remain with them long after they leave us.
Most importantly, we want St Peter’s to be a place where children flourish – academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually. A place where they are encouraged to be themselves, supported when things are difficult and inspired to become confident, compassionate young people who are ready for the next stage of their journey.
I feel enormously privileged to serve as Headteacher of St Peter’s and look forward to working alongside our children, families, staff, governors, church and wider community as we continue to build an exciting future for our school.
If you are considering St Peter’s for your child, I warmly invite you to come and visit us. There is no better way to understand our school than to meet our children and staff, experience the warmth of our community and see our school in its beautiful countryside setting.
A very warm welcome to St Peter’s
