Oak Class - Years 1 & 2

 Happy New Year Oak Class!

Firstly a huge thank you from all of the staff in Oak, for all the lovely Christmas gifts we were given. We are all very grateful.

It seems like a long time ago since the Christmas break, we hope you all had a wonderful time, the children have settled back in beautifully.

We have another jam packed half term leading up to the February holidays, so keep your eye on this class page and Parentmail for any news.

Our new topic is Peter Pan and Pirates, which the children all seem very happy with.

Below are the KCV grids for this half term and also the topic Web for your information.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do get in touch.

Best Wishes

Mrs Carter and Mrs Franklin.

Welcome back!

We hope you have had a lovely half term break.

This term our topic is 'Guy Fawkes' we will be looking at his life and finding out more about 'The Gunpowder Plot'.

Below you will find Autumn 2 KCV grids and Topic web, these give you an insight into what the children will be focusing on this term.

We will also be working on this years nativity production over the coming weeks.

As always if you have any questions please do get in touch!

A Big Warm Welcome to Oak Class!

We hope you have all had a fabulous summer holiday and are ready for the new school year.

For those who are new to Oak Class we will add photos and updates onto the class page to give you an insight into what your child has been doing at school.

We hope to update this as often as possible.

We will soon be adding some useful links for Maths, English and Phonics games to have a go at home if you wish. Anything you can do at home with your child will give them a boost in their learning.

We have also added a suggested reading list for Year 1 and Year 2 along with the Oxford Owls website link.

Below we have added a suggested book list for each year group.

Where possible we would like your child to read to someone at home every day, this will help them with their comprehension in lessons, making it easier for them to access the whole curriculum.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us via email through the office.

We look forward to meeting you all soon.
